Possible Causes

Disconnected CT clamp interface, Broken cable to external smart meter, Incorrect Modbus or API configuration, Failed external meter interface on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before modifying meter wiring.

  • Verify feature use: Confirm in the NewMotion configuration whether external load balancing or smart metering is actually required. If not used, disable it in settings to clear E015.
  • Check external wiring: Trace the cable from the charger to the external meter or CT clamps. Look for breaks, loose junctions, or water ingress at glands.
  • Inspect CT clamps: Ensure CT clamps are correctly oriented and fully closed around the mains conductors if used.
  • Confirm meter power: Make sure the external meter is powered and functioning (LEDs or display active).
  • Check communication settings: For Modbus meters, verify baud rate, parity, and address match between the meter and charger configuration.
  • Interface diagnosis: If wiring and configuration are correct but E015 persists, the external meter interface on the main PCB may be faulty and require board replacement.
