Possible Causes
Faulty auxiliary contact on main contactor, Broken feedback wiring to PCB, Misconfigured contactor monitoring, Stuck contactor not matching commanded state
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains before touching the contactor or its wiring.
- Listen for operation: When starting or stopping a charge, listen for the contactor click. No sound or continuous hum suggests a mechanical or coil issue.
- Inspect aux contacts: Locate the auxiliary contact block on the main contactor. Ensure its wiring to the PCB is intact and terminals are tight.
- Continuity test: With power off, manually operate the contactor (if possible) and check continuity across the auxiliary contacts to confirm they change state correctly.
- Replace contactor: If the auxiliary contacts are faulty or the contactor is sticking, replace the entire contactor assembly or power module.
- Check PCB input: If the aux contacts work but the PCB does not detect state changes, the contactor feedback input on the main PCB may be faulty.
