Possible Causes
Utility overvoltage condition, Incorrect transformer tap or supply configuration, Miswired split-phase supply, Faulty AC voltage sensing circuit on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overvoltage can damage the EVSE and vehicle. Do not attempt to bypass this protection.
- Step 1 – Confirm voltage: Use a multimeter to measure the line-to-line and line-to-neutral voltage at the EVSE input. If above the rated range, stop using the EVSE and contact your utility or electrician.
- Step 2 – Verify wiring: Ensure the EVSE is connected to the correct breaker type and that no incorrect transformer or generator settings are in use.
- Step 3 – Board check: If actual voltage is normal but the EVSE reports high, the sensing circuit may be defective. Replace the main control board.
