Possible Causes
Tripped or off breaker, Blown internal fuse on OpenEVSE board, Loose line connections at terminal block, Failed low-voltage power supply on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Treat all internal wiring as live until verified otherwise with a meter. Turn off the breaker before opening the enclosure.
- Step 1 – Check breaker: Verify the branch circuit breaker feeding the EVSE is ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary and see if power returns.
- Step 2 – Verify input voltage: With the enclosure closed, measure voltage at the EVSE input terminals (if accessible) or at the receptacle for plug-in units. Confirm correct voltage is present.
- Step 3 – Inspect internal fuse: With power OFF and cover removed, locate any internal fuses on the main board or input. Test with a multimeter and replace with the exact same type and rating if blown.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Ensure line and neutral (if used) are firmly secured in the terminal block and that no wires have pulled out.
- Step 5 – Board power supply: If AC is present at the input but the LCD and Wi-Fi remain dead, the onboard low-voltage power supply (e.g., 5 V regulator) may have failed. Replace the main control board.
