Possible Causes

Tripped MCB or RCD in consumer unit, Loose or burned line/neutral connection in charger terminal block, Failed internal low‑voltage power supply module on Pod Point PCB, Blown internal fuse on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: EV chargers contain live mains and high current circuits. If you are not a qualified electrician, do not open the unit. You may safely check only the consumer unit and obvious external issues.

  • Step 1 – Check the consumer unit: Locate the dedicated Pod Point circuit in your consumer unit. Ensure the MCB and any RCD/RCBO feeding the charger are in the ON position. If tripped, reset once. If it trips again immediately, do not continue resetting – call an electrician.
  • Step 2 – Check external isolation switch: If your installation has an external isolator near the charger, verify it is switched ON and fully latched.
  • Step 3 – Inspect for visible damage: With power OFF at the consumer unit, visually inspect the charger casing and cable for burn marks, melting, or impact damage. Do not use the charger if any damage is seen.
  • Step 4 – Internal checks (electrician only): A qualified electrician can isolate the supply, open the Pod Point enclosure, and check the incoming terminal block for loose or overheated connections, test for 230 V at the input, and check the internal low‑voltage power supply and board fuse. If the PCB power supply is faulty, the complete control PCB usually needs replacement.
  • Step 5 – Contact Pod Point support: If there is confirmed supply at the unit but no LEDs, provide serial number and installation details to Pod Point; they may recommend a replacement control board or full unit replacement.
