Possible Causes
Incorrectly installed or reversed CT clamp on main supply, Loose CT clamp connection to Pod Point, Faulty CT sensor, Misconfigured maximum supply capacity in Pod Point settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: CT clamps are installed on live mains cables. Only a qualified electrician should adjust or install them.
- Step 1 – Check app settings: Open the Pod Point app or installer portal and verify that the maximum supply capacity and load management settings are correctly configured for your property.
- Step 2 – Temporary disable (if allowed): If safe and permitted by Pod Point, temporarily disable load management in the app to confirm whether the CT system is causing the issue.
- Step 3 – Inspect CT clamp (electrician only): Confirm the CT clamp is installed on the correct conductor (usually the incoming live), oriented correctly (arrow towards load), and fully closed. Check the low‑voltage CT cable is securely connected to the charger’s CT input terminals.
- Step 4 – Test CT sensor: Using appropriate test equipment, verify that the CT output changes with load. Replace the CT clamp if readings are incorrect or intermittent.
- Step 5 – Reconfigure system: After hardware checks, re‑enter the correct supply rating and load limit in the Pod Point configuration and test charging under typical household load.
