Possible Causes
Failed socket lock motor/solenoid, Jammed locking pin due to debris or corrosion, Faulty lock position sensor, Broken wiring between lock actuator and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not pry the lock open with tools; this can damage the socket and compromise safety.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Turn OFF and ON the charger at the isolator/consumer unit to attempt a lock reset.
- Step 2 – Remove debris: With power OFF, inspect the socket area for foreign objects or dirt around the locking pin. Gently clean with a soft brush or dry cloth.
- Step 3 – Listen for actuator: When locking/unlocking via the app or plugging/unplugging, listen for the lock motor. No sound may indicate actuator or wiring failure.
- Step 4 – Technician inspection: A qualified technician can open the unit, test the lock actuator for correct voltage and movement, and check the lock position sensor. Replace the actuator or sensor if faulty.
- Step 5 – Functional test: After repair, verify that the socket locks and unlocks reliably with multiple plug‑in/plug‑out cycles.
