Possible Causes

Failed main output relay contacts, Broken internal output wiring, Control board not energizing relay, Safety interlock preventing closure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Even if no current is flowing, treat all wiring as live until the breaker is off.

  • Listen for relay click: When starting a charge, you should hear a distinct click from inside the Splitvolt charger. No click plus E12 suggests the relay is not closing.
  • Check vehicle side: Confirm the vehicle is not limiting current due to its own fault. Try another EV if available.
  • Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for a few minutes, then ON, and attempt to start charging again.
  • Internal fault likely: If E12 persists, the main output relay or its driver circuit on the control board is likely defective. This requires internal testing and relay/board replacement by a qualified technician.
