Splitvolt EV charger cable insulation is cracked, cut, or shows exposed conductors.

Possible Causes

Cable run over by vehicle, UV degradation from sun exposure, Repeated sharp bending, Animal chewing

Safety first: Do not use the charger if any copper conductor is visible or if the cable jacket is deeply cut.

Disconnect power: Turn off the breaker and unplug the charger.
Inspect entire length: Run your hand (with gloves) along the cable to feel for soft spots, cuts, or flat areas.
Do not tape over damage: Electrical tape is not an adequate repair for EVSE cables.
Replace cable assembly: Contact Splitvolt or a qualified technician to replace the entire cable and J1772 handle assembly.
