Safety first: If the housing is too hot to touch or shows signs of warping, turn off power and discontinue use.

Improve airflow: Ensure the charger is not covered or installed in a confined space. Provide several inches of clearance on all sides.
Check ambient conditions: Avoid charging during the hottest part of the day in unventilated garages. Consider adding a fan or ventilation.
Reduce current: Lower the charger’s output current setting to reduce internal heat generation.
Listen for fan (if present): If your model has a cooling fan and you do not hear it running under load, the fan may have failed and should be replaced by a technician.
Persistent overheating: Internal components may be failing; have the charger inspected or replaced.
