Possible Causes

Tripped or faulty circuit breaker, Loose hot or neutral connection at outlet, Failed internal input fuse, Defective low-voltage power supply board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the breaker before removing covers or checking wiring. High voltage is present inside the charger.

  • Verify breaker status: Check that the 2-pole breaker feeding the Splitvolt outlet is in the ON position and not tripped. Reset if necessary.
  • Test outlet: Use a multimeter or plug in another 240V appliance (if appropriate) to confirm the outlet has power. If not, contact an electrician.
  • Inspect plug and cord: With power OFF, unplug the charger and inspect the cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace the charger if the cord is damaged.
  • Internal fuse (if accessible by design): Some Splitvolt models may have a serviceable internal fuse. Only a qualified technician should open the unit and test/replace this fuse.
  • If still dead with known-good power: The internal power supply or control board is likely failed and the unit should be professionally repaired or replaced.
