Possible Causes
Failing backlight driver, Loose display ribbon cable, Low-voltage rail sagging, Moisture damage to display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the front panel or display.
- Power-cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for 2 minutes, then ON, and observe if the display returns to normal.
- Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation behind the display window. If present, dry the unit thoroughly and improve weather sealing.
- Reseat ribbon cable: With power OFF, carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the display and main control PCB.
- Check low-voltage supply: If qualified, measure the display's supply voltage to ensure it matches spec. Low voltage points to a failing low-voltage power supply module.
- Replace display if needed: If the power is stable but the display remains dim or garbled, replace the display / user interface board.
