Possible Causes
Supply voltage outside Zencar operating range, Loose line or neutral connection, Faulty internal power supply module, Damaged surge protection components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Voltage issues can damage equipment and pose shock hazards. Only qualified persons should measure live voltages.
- Measure supply voltage: Using a multimeter, verify the line-to-line or line-to-neutral voltage at the charger input matches the rated voltage (e.g., 208–240 V for many Zencar models). If outside range, contact an electrician or utility.
- Check terminal tightness: With power OFF, remove the Zencar input cover and ensure all line, neutral (if used), and ground terminals are tight and free of discoloration or burning.
- Inspect surge components: Look for burnt MOVs, fuses, or input filter components on the power supply board. Any signs of charring or cracking indicate the board should be replaced.
- Try a different circuit: If the charger is plug-in style, test it on another properly wired outlet with the correct voltage and breaker size.
- If E04 remains with correct voltage: The internal SMPS / power supply module or main control PCB is likely damaged and must be replaced.
