Possible Causes
Faulty feedback contacts on main contactor, Broken feedback wiring, Failed self-test circuit on control board, Contactor not fully closing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The contactor carries high current. Isolate power at the breaker and verify zero voltage before testing.
- Listen for contactor click: During startup, confirm the contactor audibly clicks. No click suggests a coil or driver issue.
- Inspect feedback wiring: With power OFF, locate the small-gauge wires from the contactor auxiliary contacts to the main board. Ensure they are intact and firmly connected.
- Test auxiliary contacts: Manually actuate the contactor (if safe and possible) and check continuity across the auxiliary contacts with a multimeter.
- Replace contactor if faulty: If the auxiliary contacts do not change state reliably, replace the main power contactor with auxiliary contacts.
- If contactor is good: The self-test/feedback circuit on the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
