Possible Causes
Failed plug-in microswitch in socket, Broken detection wiring, Debris in socket preventing full insertion, Faulty detection input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before inspecting the socket interior.
- Inspect socket: For Zencar wallboxes with a Type 2 socket, check for debris, melted plastic, or foreign objects that could block full plug insertion.
- Test mechanical switch: Gently insert and remove the plug while listening for a click from the internal microswitch. No click suggests a failed switch.
- Check wiring: With power OFF, verify the detection switch wires are intact and firmly connected to the main control PCB.
- Clean contacts: Use appropriate contact cleaner to remove light oxidation from socket contacts (do not use abrasive tools).
- If detection still fails: Replace the Type 2 socket assembly with plug-in detection switch or repair the detection circuit on the main control PCB.
