Possible Causes

Failed external current sensor (CT) for load management, Communication loss with home energy meter, Misconfigured load limit settings, Faulty load control firmware

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: External CTs and meters are connected to mains; isolate power before handling.

  • Check configuration: In the Zencar app or web interface, verify that load management settings (max house current, charger limit) are correctly set.
  • Inspect external CTs: Ensure any Zencar-branded current transformers around the main supply conductors are correctly oriented and their cables are intact.
  • Verify communication wiring: For wired meters, check RS-485 or similar communication cables for secure connections and no visible damage.
  • Disable smart mode: Temporarily disable load management or smart scheduling and test if the charger operates normally in manual mode.
  • If E18 only occurs in smart mode: Replace the external CT kit / energy meter or update firmware per Zencar instructions.
