Freezer displays E9 and may show erratic or blank temperature readings.

• Access control panel: Remove the top/front trim where the display is located (usually clipped or screwed). Be gentle to avoid cracking plastic.
• Check connectors: Locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting the display to the main PCB. Disconnect and inspect for corrosion, bent pins, or damage. Clean gently with contact cleaner if needed.
• Reseat cables: Firmly reconnect all plugs, ensuring they are fully seated and latched.
• Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water ingress around the panel. Dry thoroughly before reassembly.
• Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and check if the E9 code clears and the display functions normally.

If the error persists, either the user interface board or the main control board is likely defective. Replacement of these boards should generally be done by a qualified technician to avoid ESD damage and miswiring.
