Excessive frost buildup on food and walls, especially near the door area.

Safety: No electrical work is required for gasket checks. Unplug only if adjusting hinges or removing doors.

• Inspect gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections of the Balay freezer door seal.
• Paper test: Close the door on a sheet of paper at various points around the gasket. If the paper pulls out easily, the seal is weak there.
• Clean and soften gasket: Wash the gasket with warm soapy water and dry. Gently warm deformed areas with a hairdryer and reshape by hand.
• Adjust door alignment: If the door is sagging, adjust the hinges according to the Balay manual so the door closes squarely.
• Replace gasket: If damage is severe, install a new Balay freezer door gasket matched to your model.

After repair, defrost the freezer fully to remove existing frost and then monitor for recurrence.
