Possible Causes
Freezer not level, Loose compressor mounting, Vibrating copper tubing touching cabinet, Worn evaporator or condenser fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before adjusting components at the rear or inside.
- Level the appliance: Use a spirit level and adjust the front feet so the Balay freezer is stable and does not rock. Slight backward tilt helps door closure.
- Check for contact points: At the rear, gently move copper tubes away from the cabinet or each other if they are touching and vibrating. Do not kink or sharply bend the tubes.
- Tighten compressor mounts: Ensure the compressor mounting bolts or rubber grommets are secure but not overtightened.
- Inspect fans: Listen to determine if noise comes from inside (evaporator fan) or rear (condenser fan). Replace noisy Balay fan motors if bearings are worn.
Persistent knocking or grinding from the compressor itself usually indicates internal damage and requires professional assessment.
