How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or control components.

Adjust temperature: Set the thermostat to a slightly warmer setting and monitor over 24 hours.
Check door seal: Inspect and test the gasket (see frost buildup fault). Air leaks can cause long run times.
Test sensor/thermostat: Follow the steps for temperature regulation faults to verify the Balay cabinet sensor or thermostat.
Monitor compressor temperature: If the compressor becomes excessively hot, switch off the freezer and seek service to avoid damage.

If the freezer continues to run non-stop despite correct temperature and good sealing, the main control board may be defective.

Freezer runs continuously without cycling off, but temperature is normal or slightly low.
