Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer. Do not attempt to bypass safety devices or run the compressor directly from mains unless you are a qualified technician.
Check compressor operation:
- Listen for any attempt to start when the unit is powered (before unplugging). A repeated click without compressor hum suggests a control or start issue.
Inspect main PCB:
- Access the main control board at the rear base.
- Look for burned areas near the compressor relay/triac and output terminals.
- Check that the compressor output connector is firmly seated and not heat-damaged.
Compressor checks:
- With power disconnected, test compressor windings for continuity and shorts to ground.
- If the compressor is shorted, it may have damaged the board and will require professional replacement.
Corrective actions:
- Replace main PCB: If the compressor drive components on the board are visibly damaged or E10 persists after verifying the compressor is good, replace the main control board with the correct Blomberg part.
- Replace compressor (pro only): If the compressor is shorted or seized, a sealed system technician must replace it and recharge the system.
Test: After board replacement, restore power and confirm that the compressor starts and runs steadily, and that E10 does not return.
