Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing control panels.
Check user controls:
- Press the super-freeze button and observe whether the indicator LED or icon responds.
- If the button feels stuck or unresponsive, the user interface may be faulty.
Inspect user interface and wiring:
- Remove the control fascia to access the super-freeze switch or touch PCB.
- Check for cracked solder joints or moisture damage around the button.
- Verify the harness from the interface to the main PCB is intact and firmly connected.
Corrective actions:
- Clean or replace button module: For mechanical switches, clean contacts with electrical contact cleaner or replace the switch module. For touch panels, replace the entire user interface PCB if defective.
- Replace main PCB: If the interface is working but the freezer will not enter or maintain super-freeze and E12 persists, the main board's control circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
Test: After reassembly, restore power and activate super-freeze. Confirm that the indicator lights and that the compressor runs continuously as designed, without E12 reappearing.
