Possible Causes
Door gasket not sealing fully, Door frequently opened or left ajar, Warm food placed directly inside, Cracked inner liner allowing moist air paths
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Avoid using sharp tools to remove frost; they can puncture the liner or evaporator.
Reduce moisture load:
- Allow hot or warm food to cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer.
- Limit door opening time and ensure the door is fully closed each time.
Check gasket and door closure:
- Inspect the gasket for gaps and perform the paper test around the perimeter.
- Adjust hinges or replace the gasket if sealing is poor.
Defrost and reset:
- Turn off and unplug the freezer.
- Allow all frost to melt completely; wipe out water.
- Restart and monitor frost buildup over the next week.
Note: Some light frost is normal, but heavy, rapid buildup indicates ongoing air leakage that must be corrected.
