Steps:

• Locate noise source: Remove the rear lower panel and listen (with power briefly applied) to determine if the noise is from the fan or compressor. Unplug again before touching anything.
• Fan issues: Inspect the condenser fan blade for contact with wiring or shroud. Reposition as needed. If the fan shaft is loose or noisy when spun by hand, replace the condenser fan motor.
• Compressor noise: Check that the compressor mounting grommets are intact and not hardened. Replace compressor mounting grommets if needed to reduce vibration.
• Persistent loud compressor: If the compressor itself is excessively loud, it may be failing internally. This requires evaluation by a refrigeration technician.
