Possible Causes
High room humidity, Door gasket leaking warm moist air, Door frequently opened, Failed mullion or cabinet heater (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before inspecting any heater wiring around the door frame.
- Reduce humidity: Use a dehumidifier in very humid rooms and avoid placing the freezer near open windows or damp areas.
- Check gasket seal: Inspect and test the door gasket as described in the gasket leak section. Replace if necessary.
- Limit door openings: Minimize how often and how long the door is opened, especially in humid weather.
- Mullion heater (if equipped): Some Galanz models have a small heater around the door frame to reduce condensation. If the area is unusually cold and wet, the heater circuit may have failed. This typically requires checking continuity of the mullion heater and its wiring, and may involve control board replacement.
