Possible Causes
Worn or damaged keypad, Moisture in control panel, Loose ribbon cable, Failed user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel.
Steps to restore button function:
- Dry moisture: If condensation or spills reached the control area, allow it to dry completely. Do not use direct heat on the electronics.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable between the keypad and control board. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Test specific buttons: If only some buttons fail, the keypad membrane is likely worn. Replace the GE control panel/keypad assembly.
- Replace UI board: If no buttons respond and wiring is intact, replace the user interface board.
Note: After replacement, you may need to reset temperature settings to your preference.
