Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the compressor or control board.

Steps to address short cycling:

Verify power quality: Avoid using extension cords or power strips. Plug directly into a dedicated outlet.
Inspect start relay and overload: Access the compressor compartment and examine the start device for burn marks or rattling. Replace the GE compressor start relay/overload if suspect.
Check condenser coils and fan: Overheating due to poor cooling of the compressor can cause overload trips. Clean coils and ensure the condenser fan is running.
Control board evaluation: If the compressor is being switched on and off by the control at very short intervals, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.

Note: Persistent short cycling can damage the compressor; address promptly.
