Possible Causes
Door not fully closed, Misaligned or damaged door gasket, Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Magnet missing from door frame
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is needed for basic checks; unplug only if removing panels.
- Check door closure: Ensure shelves or food packages are not preventing the door from closing fully. Adjust contents as needed.
- Inspect gasket: Look for twisted, torn, or hardened sections of the door gasket. Clean it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Test door switch: Locate the door switch (mechanical plunger or magnetic reed). Press the switch manually; the interior light should turn off and the alarm should stop. If not, the switch may be faulty.
- Magnet check (for reed sensors): Some models use a magnet in the door. Ensure it is present and aligned with the sensor in the cabinet.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the door switch or reed sensor if it does not change state when the door is opened/closed.
