Possible Causes
Loose or oxidized ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Faulty display PCB, Faulty main control PCB communication circuit, Moisture ingress into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or top cover. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Access control panel: On many Gorenje freezers, the display is located on the door or top front. Remove the trim and screws to access the user interface (UI) PCB.
- Check connectors: Inspect the ribbon cable or harness between the UI and main PCB. Reseat connectors firmly and check for corrosion or bent pins.
- Dry moisture: If there are signs of condensation or liquid ingress, gently dry the area with a soft cloth. Allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the UI PCB. If damage is visible, replacement is recommended.
- Test after reassembly: Reassemble the panel, restore power, and check if E7 clears. If the error persists, either the UI PCB or main PCB is likely defective. Replacing the UI PCB is usually tried first; if that fails, the main PCB may need replacement by a technician.
