Possible Causes
Defective ambient temperature sensor, Sensor dislodged from correct location, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty PCB sensor input channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing sensors or control compartments.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Gorenje freezers, an ambient or cabinet sensor is placed near the air intake or behind a small grille inside the cabinet or in the control housing.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Ensure the sensor is not hanging loose or touching cold surfaces that could skew readings. Check the cable for damage.
- Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with expected NTC values. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Check PCB connection: Reseat the connector on the main PCB and inspect for corrosion.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new ambient/cabinet temperature sensor if needed. If the sensor and wiring are good but E9 remains, the main PCB may require replacement.
