Possible Causes

Door left open or not sealing, Blocked condenser or poor ventilation, Refrigerant leak or low charge, Failing compressor or start components

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or accessing rear components. Avoid damaging refrigerant lines.

  • Check door and gasket: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket is clean and undamaged. Look for warped areas or debris preventing a tight seal.
  • Ventilation and condenser: Verify that there is adequate space around the freezer per Gorenje specifications. Clean dust from the condenser coils and fan (if fitted) using a soft brush and vacuum.
  • Check for internal airflow issues: Make sure food items are not blocking air vents inside the freezer. Avoid overpacking.
  • Monitor compressor operation: After restoring power, listen for the compressor starting and running steadily. If it repeatedly tries to start and clicks off, suspect start relay/overload issues.
  • Allow recovery time: After a power outage or door left open, it can take several hours to reach set temperature. If the high-temp alarm persists beyond 12–24 hours despite good sealing and ventilation, a sealed system or compressor fault may exist and should be diagnosed by a refrigeration technician.
