Possible Causes
Overflowing drip tray, Mispositioned drain tube, Cracked drip tray above compressor, Excessive frost/defrost water due to door leaks
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing rear panels. Beware of sharp metal edges.
- Inspect drip tray: Remove the rear lower panel and locate the plastic drip tray above the compressor. Check for cracks or displacement.
- Check drain tube position: Ensure the drain tube terminates correctly into the tray and is not hanging outside.
- Clean tray and tube: Empty and clean the tray. Flush the drain tube with warm water to remove sludge.
- Door sealing: If excessive water is present, check the door gasket and usage habits (frequent long openings) that can cause heavy frost and defrost water.
- Replace damaged parts: Replace a cracked drip tray or damaged drain tube if necessary.
