Possible Causes
Freezer not left upright long enough before powering, Internal compressor protection delay, Dislodged wiring during transport
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is unplugged while inspecting wiring or panels.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Rest period: If the freezer was transported on its side or at an angle, leave it upright and unplugged for at least 4–6 hours (24 hours if heavily tilted) to allow compressor oil to settle.
- 2. Power on and wait: Plug in and allow up to 10 minutes for any built-in start delay to elapse. Listen for the compressor starting.
- 3. Inspect rear wiring: If still not starting, remove the rear panel and check that all connectors to the compressor and PCB are secure.
- 4. Check for visible damage: Look for crushed or pinched wires that may have occurred during moving.
When to call a technician: If the freezer still will not start after the rest period and basic checks, a technician should evaluate the compressor and control system.
