Safety first: Unplug the freezer before touching the compressor or fan. Components may be hot and live.

Identify noise source: Listen carefully at the back with the cover removed. Determine if the noise comes from the compressor or the fan.
Check fan area: Remove any debris contacting the fan blades. Ensure the fan shroud is not bent into the blades.
Tighten mounts: Verify that the compressor mounting bolts or springs are secure and that the compressor is not banging against the frame.
Replace noisy fan: If the condenser fan motor is grinding or rattling, replace it with the correct Hotpoint-Ariston fan motor.
Compressor noise: If the compressor itself is excessively loud or clicking, it may be failing and should be evaluated by a refrigeration technician.
