Possible Causes
Leaking door gasket, Thermostat or sensor out of calibration, Dirty condenser reducing efficiency, Ambient temperature too high or low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or adjusting components.
- Check door seal and alignment: Inspect the gasket and ensure the door closes fully. Adjust leveling so the door self-closes.
- Clean condenser: Remove dust from condenser coils or rear grid to improve heat rejection.
- Verify ambient conditions: Ensure the freezer is in a room within the manufacturer's recommended temperature range (typically 10–32°C). Very cold garages can cause long run times.
- Check temperature sensor/thermostat: If the interior is already at or below the setpoint but the compressor keeps running, the sensor or thermostat may be faulty and should be replaced.
