Possible Causes

Failed condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose or damaged fan wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the rear compartment.

Inspect the condenser fan:

  • Remove the rear lower access panel to expose the condenser coil and fan.
  • Check if debris, dust, or packaging material is blocking the fan blades. Clear any obstructions.
  • Spin the fan blade by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding or stiffness.

Check wiring and power:

  • Inspect the fan motor wiring harness for cuts, burns, or loose connectors. Reseat the connector at the motor and control board.
  • With the unit plugged in and calling for cooling (use caution), see if the fan attempts to start. If it hums but does not spin, the motor is likely failing.

Replace the fan motor if needed:

  • Unplug the freezer again.
  • Remove the fan blade from the motor shaft (usually a friction fit or small retaining clip).
  • Unbolt the fan motor from its bracket and install an Igloo-compatible condenser fan motor.
  • Reinstall the fan blade, ensuring correct orientation and clearance from surrounding parts.

Test operation: Reinstall the rear panel, restore power, and verify that the fan runs whenever the compressor is on and that the E7 code clears.
