Possible Causes
Condenser coils embedded in cabinet working hard, Dirty external condenser (if present), Poor ventilation around unit, Continuous run due to gasket leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Surfaces may be hot but should not be scalding. Unplug the unit before cleaning coils.
Ventilation:
- Ensure several inches of clearance around the freezer for air circulation.
- Do not block front or rear ventilation grilles.
Condenser cleaning:
- If your Igloo model has exposed condenser coils, clean them thoroughly.
Door seal and run time:
- Check the door gasket and correct any leaks to reduce compressor run time and cabinet heating.
Monitor: Some warmth is normal, especially along the door frame, but if surfaces are extremely hot or there is a burning smell, unplug the unit and have it inspected by a technician.
