Freezer displays AL02 and may beep intermittently; temperature reading seems incorrect or fluctuates rapidly.

Safety first: Disconnect the freezer from mains power before accessing any wiring or control modules.

• Power reset: Unplug the freezer for 5 minutes, then plug it back in. If AL02 clears temporarily and then returns, proceed with further checks.
• Locate the NTC sensor: On many Ignis freezers, the temperature sensor is behind a small plastic cover on the inner liner or clipped to the evaporator behind the rear internal panel. Remove the cover or panel carefully.
• Inspect wiring: Check the sensor wires for cuts, pinches, or signs of moisture damage. Ensure the connector is firmly seated on the sensor and at the control board (usually in the top or rear electronics compartment).
• Basic sensor test: With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance using a multimeter. Compare the reading to the Ignis service chart (typically around 5–20 kΩ depending on temperature). An open circuit (infinite) or near-zero ohms indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace sensor if faulty: If readings are out of range, replace the freezer NTC temperature sensor with a compatible Ignis part. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it away from moving parts.

If the sensor and wiring are good but AL02 persists, the electronic control board may be defective and should be diagnosed and replaced by a qualified technician.
