Possible Causes

Failed defrost NTC sensor, Sensor not in proper contact with evaporator, Broken sensor wiring, Faulty control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing the inner rear panel.

  • Defrost manually: Empty the freezer and allow all ice to melt. This will also expose the evaporator and sensor.
  • Locate defrost sensor: Find the small NTC sensor clipped to the evaporator tubing. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  • Test sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance. Replace the defrost NTC sensor if readings are out of range.

If E2 remains after sensor replacement, the defrost control function on the main PCB is likely faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
