Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing control panel covers. Electronic boards are sensitive to static; avoid touching components unnecessarily.
Steps to address E6:
- Power cycle: Unplug the freezer for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E6 reappears, proceed with inspection.
- Access control panel: Remove screws or clips holding the front control panel or top console. Carefully pull it forward to expose the display board and wiring.
- Check connectors: Locate the multi-pin harness that runs from the display board to the main control board (often at the rear). Reseat both ends: unplug, inspect for corrosion or bent pins, and firmly reconnect.
- Inspect cable: Follow the cable path through the cabinet. Look for pinched, cut, or chewed sections. Replace the harness if damaged.
- Board evaluation: If wiring is intact, inspect both boards for burnt components or cracked solder joints. If one board is visibly damaged, replace that board with a Midea-compatible part.
Note: Board-level diagnosis beyond visual inspection is best handled by a professional with proper tools.
