Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing the fan. Fan blades can be sharp; wear gloves.
Steps to troubleshoot E7:
- Listen for fan: With the door closed and unit powered (before unplugging), listen for the evaporator fan running after the compressor starts. A loud hum or silence may indicate a problem.
- Access fan: Remove baskets and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for ice blockage: Look for heavy frost or ice around the fan shroud. If present, defrost the unit fully by unplugging and leaving doors open for several hours, then restart. If E7 returns, continue.
- Inspect fan wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Test fan motor: With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. On DC fans, you may also briefly power with a low-voltage DC supply (if you are qualified) to confirm operation.
- Replace fan: Install a new Midea evaporator fan motor assembly if the original is defective. Reuse or replace the fan blade as needed and ensure it spins freely without rubbing.
Note: If the fan tests good but does not receive power, the main control board's fan driver may be faulty and require replacement.
