How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel. Avoid using sharp tools on the touch surface.
Steps to address F1:
- Inspect panel surface: Check for spills, condensation, or physical damage around the buttons. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If F1 returns immediately, continue.
- Access control panel: Remove screws or clips holding the panel. Carefully pull it out to expose the user interface PCB and ribbon cable.
- Check connections: Reseat the ribbon cable between the user interface and main board. Inspect for corrosion or bent contacts.
- Button test: With power restored (if safe to do so), gently press each button to see if any are unresponsive or trigger multiple functions. If so, the panel is likely defective.
- Replace panel: Install a new Midea control panel/user interface board if the original is faulty.
Note: If replacing the panel does not clear F1, the main control board may be misinterpreting keypad signals.
