Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overcooling is not usually a safety hazard but can damage food quality and increase energy use.
Steps to address L1/LO:
- Check setpoint: Verify the temperature setting is not at the coldest position. Adjust to the recommended setting and wait 12–24 hours.
- Inspect door gasket: A leaking gasket can cause the unit to run excessively, but usually leads to warming, not overcooling. Still, ensure it seals properly.
- Sensor check: If the unit continues to run almost constantly and temperature is far below setpoint, the cabinet sensor may be reading incorrectly. See E1 procedure to test/replace the cabinet NTC sensor.
- Control board evaluation: If the sensor is good, the compressor relay on the main board may be stuck closed. This requires board replacement.
Note: On mechanical thermostat models, a stuck thermostat can cause continuous running; replacing the thermostat is usually straightforward.
