High Cabinet Surface Temperature
Freezer exterior sides or top feel very hot to the touch

Possible Causes
Condenser coils embedded in cabinet working hard, Poor ventilation around freezer, Condenser fan failure (if equipped), High ambient room temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Surfaces may be hot but should not cause burns. If there is a burning smell, unplug immediately.
Steps:
- Improve ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the freezer, especially at the back and sides. Do not block air vents.
- Clean condenser area: Remove dust and lint from the rear and bottom of the unit using a vacuum and brush.
- Check condenser fan: On models with an external condenser fan, verify it runs when the compressor is on. Replace if not (see condenser fan entry).
- Monitor temperature: Some warmth is normal, especially along door edges, but surfaces should not be excessively hot for long periods.
