Possible Causes
Door gasket not sealing, Door frequently opened in humid environment, Items blocking door from closing fully, Cracked inner liner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No major electrical hazard, but unplug before adjusting door or gasket if you must remove panels.
Steps:
- Check door closure: Ensure nothing inside is protruding and preventing the door from sealing.
- Inspect gasket: Look for gaps, tears, or hardened sections of the Midea door gasket. Close a sheet of paper in the door at various points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- Clean gasket: Wipe the gasket and mating surfaces with warm soapy water to remove dirt and improve sealing.
- Adjust door: Level the freezer using the front leveling legs so the door closes firmly. On some models, hinge adjustments can improve alignment.
- Replace gasket: If the gasket is damaged or permanently deformed, replace it with a Midea-specific gasket.
