Excessive frost or ice build-up on interior walls and around door opening

Safety: No electrical hazard, but avoid using sharp tools on ice.

• Inspect gasket: Check the entire door seal for splits, tears, or hardened sections. Close a sheet of paper in the door at various points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak there.
• Clean gasket and frame: Wipe with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris that may prevent sealing.
• Check for obstructions: Ensure baskets or food packages are not protruding and preventing the door from closing fully.
• Adjust door: If the door is sagging, adjust hinge screws to realign it.
• Replace gasket: If damaged, fit a Montpellier-compatible door gasket, warming it gently with a hairdryer to help it seat and seal.

After correcting the seal, defrost the freezer fully to remove existing ice and restore normal airflow.
