Excessive frost or ice build-up on interior walls and around door opening

Possible Causes
Damaged or hardened door gasket, Door not closing fully, Warped door, Obstruction preventing full seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical hazard, but avoid using sharp tools on ice.
- Inspect gasket: Check the entire door seal for splits, tears, or hardened sections. Close a sheet of paper in the door at various points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak there.
- Clean gasket and frame: Wipe with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris that may prevent sealing.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure baskets or food packages are not protruding and preventing the door from closing fully.
- Adjust door: If the door is sagging, adjust hinge screws to realign it.
- Replace gasket: If damaged, fit a Montpellier-compatible door gasket, warming it gently with a hairdryer to help it seat and seal.
After correcting the seal, defrost the freezer fully to remove existing ice and restore normal airflow.
