Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Loose or damaged fan wiring, Faulty main control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the fan area.
Steps:
- Remove baskets and shelves, then remove the inner rear panel to access the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check if the fan blades are blocked by ice or debris; if so, carefully defrost the area using warm towels (do not use sharp tools or open flame).
- Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely without grinding.
- Inspect the fan motor wiring harness and connector for damage or looseness; reseat the connector.
- If you have a multimeter, test for voltage at the fan connector when the unit is powered and calling for cooling (only if you are trained and comfortable working with live voltage).
- If the fan receives power but does not run, replace the evaporator fan motor assembly.
- If no power is present at the fan and wiring is intact, the main control board may be defective.
