Possible Causes
Door left open or poor door seal, Heavy warm food load, Failed cabinet temperature sensor, Compressor or sealed system issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door is closed properly and power is stable.
Steps:
- Check that the freezer door or lid closes fully and that nothing inside is blocking it.
- Inspect the door gasket for gaps, tears, or hardened sections; warm the gasket with a hair dryer (on low) and reshape if it is not sealing.
- Verify that the freezer is not overloaded with warm food; large loads can temporarily trigger a high temperature alarm.
- Allow 12–24 hours for temperature to stabilize after large loads or power outages.
- If E9 persists and the interior is warm, check that the compressor and fans are running. If they are not, further diagnosis of the compressor start circuit, sensors, or main control board is needed.
- If the compressor runs continuously but temperature remains high, there may be a sealed system problem (refrigerant leak or restriction) requiring a professional technician.
