Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display PCB and main control PCB, Faulty display board, Oxidized connectors in control housing, Low or unstable DC supply from main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel.

Steps to address E8:

  • 1. Access the control panel: Remove screws or clips holding the top/front control fascia. Carefully pull it forward to expose the display PCB and wiring.
  • 2. Check connectors: Reseat the ribbon cable or multi-pin connectors between the display PCB and the main control PCB. Ensure there is no corrosion or bent pins.
  • 3. Inspect for damage: Look for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or water ingress on the display board.
  • 4. Test power supply: With the unit briefly powered (only if you are competent and using proper safety), measure the DC voltage supplied to the display PCB from the main board. If missing or unstable, the main PCB may be faulty.
  • 5. Replace display PCB if needed: If wiring and supply are good but E8 persists and the display is erratic, install a compatible Proline display/user interface board.

Warning: Live-voltage testing should only be performed by trained persons. If unsure, contact a professional technician.
