Possible Causes
Rapid cooling of warm air inside cabinet, Effective door gasket seal, Check valve or vent not present or slow to equalize
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Understanding the symptom: It is normal for many Proline freezers to develop a temporary vacuum after closing the door, making it hard to reopen for a few minutes.
- 1. Wait a short time: Allow 1–3 minutes for internal pressure to equalize before reopening.
- 2. Check gasket: Ensure the gasket is not excessively sticky; clean with mild soapy water.
- 3. Avoid slamming: Close the door gently to reduce pressure spikes.
Note: This is generally not a fault unless the door remains extremely difficult to open for a prolonged period, in which case hinge alignment and gasket condition should be checked.
